FAQs

KiwiSaver questions answered

Still wondering about something? We're always happy to chat. Give us a call on 09 271 2570 or 021 048 3332, or send us a message.

Am I in the right investment option?

Your investment choice should reflect factors such as your goals, how long you plan to invest and how comfortable you are with investment risk. We can help you review your current option and consider whether a change may be appropriate.

Can I use my KiwiSaver savings to buy my first home?

You may be able to withdraw most of your KiwiSaver savings towards an eligible first-home purchase if you've been a member for at least three years and meet the withdrawal criteria. You'll generally need to leave $1,000 in your account. We can help you understand the process and how it fits with your mortgage plans.

How much should I be contributing?

That depends on your income, budget and savings goals. We can help you understand the available contribution rates, any employer contributions and whether you're eligible for the government contribution.

Can I change my KiwiSaver provider or investment option?

Yes. You can generally change your KiwiSaver provider or investment option, subject to the relevant scheme arrangements. Before making a change, it's worth comparing factors such as investment strategy, fees, services and your goals.

Do you charge for KiwiSaver advice?

We don't charge you a fee for KiwiSaver advice. We're paid a commission by the provider, which we'll explain as part of the advice process. You can find more information about how we're paid on our Disclosure Information page.
